The 2020 vintage is again the fruit of the famous Tuscan collaboration: 50% Sangiovese (Capannelle) and 50% Merlot (Avignonesi), which creates balance between fruitiness and structure. With its deep, dark ruby color and purple shades, it raises interest.
Nose:
Rich in intense aromas: black blackberry, ripe black cherry, Mediterranean spices, laurel, tobacco, dark chocolate, sandalwood and herbal notes richly layered.
Flavor:
Characterized by fullness and elegance: medium body, smooth, with structured tannins which provide nice balance. In flavor rich fruitiness appears: black berries, blueberry, toasted sandalwood, as well as a long, balsamic and spicy finish.
Production and ageing
50% Sangiovese from the Capannelle estate in Chianti Classico, and 50% Merlot from the Avignonesi estate in Montepulciano. The wine is aged for approximately 24 months in French oak barriques (~50% new), then receives further bottle ageing. An ideal companion for beef, lamb roasts, slow-roasted Mediterranean dishes and aged cheeses.
