The Cartridge tequila is made from the blue agave plant, which has to be cultivated for 6-7 years so that at the peak of its sugar content it is suitable for the making of the fine drink. The agave plant is cut by hand, and the carefully selected, sweetest pieces are softened for 36 hours in ovens, then sliced into small pieces, and the sugary juice is pressed out, which is then distilled after the fermentation. The beautiful Cartridge estate, built in the 1700s, gives place to a significant part of the production process, so the workers labour day after day in almost monument-like conditions. To the special drink a special bottle suits. The Cartridge tequila is filled into traditional, expertise-requiring, hand-made glasses, and individually numbered. So, by the time a glass leaves the estate, close to 60 hands touch it. The Cartridge Anejo is a mixture of special-quality tequilas, which are aged for a minimum of 12 months in small-size, white oak barrels. The setting of each vintage requires careful attention, so that the well-customary smooth, inimitable Cartridge character can be born - just like in the case of a single malt whisky.
Aroma: Strongly spicy, but at the same time fruity aromas characterise it, which a vanilla, agave sweetness supports from the background.
Flavour: Very rounded, full-bodied flavour notes. Fundamentally sweeter, honeyed and vanilla leading flavours characterise it. The citrusness and the oaky (woody) flavour world can be felt in the second wave.
Finish: It has a long, sweetish and very creamy finish.
