Charles Heidsieck 2004 Blanc des Millénaires Champagne (0,75L 12%)
Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires 2004 (0.75 L, 12%)
The Blanc des Millénaires 2004 is the iconic prestige Champagne of the Charles Heidsieck house, made exclusively in the most outstanding vintages from 100% Chardonnay. The grape comes from the most excellent vineyards of the Côte des Blancs — Cramant, Avize, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Vertus. The wine aged for more than 11 years on the lees in the house's historic chalk cellars, then went to market with carefully measured, low dosage.
Tasting notes
Color: Pale gold shade, with fine and long-lasting bubbles.
Nose: Fresh citrus, green apple, white flowers, butter, almond and mild toasted brioche aromas.
Flavor: Elegant, of creamy texture and exceptionally balanced. The flavor features yellow apple, quince, peach, almond and nutty notes accompanied by vivid acids and fine minerality. The finish is long, clean and exceptionally elegant.
Style
The 2004 vintage shows a refined, precise and elegant style, with the perfect balance of Chardonnay's freshness and fine creaminess. Not loud, rather restrained complex, layered and long-lived Champagne.
Drinking suggestion
Drinking window: Excellently drinkable now too, but will develop for at least another 8-10 years.
