The Yerevan-based Ararat is perhaps one of the world's best-known brandy brands. The producer makes numerous truly noteworthy distillates, among them the Dvin Collection Reserve Brandy, which is one of the gems of the Ararat's exclusive collection. This masterpiece praises the art of the famous Markar Sedrakyan. A singular blend, which first appeared in 1945, and in its name - Dvin - erects a monument to the ancient Armenian town known from medieval legends and archaeological finds. The production of Armenian brandy started in 1887. In Yerevan the merchant and philanthropist Nerses Tairyan got it into his head to establish classic French brandy-making in his homeland. His cousin, Vasily Tairov, who was an experienced winemaker and scientist, suggested the Ararat valley and the high-quality local grape. The Ararat Dvin Collection Reserve Brandy is aged for a long time in oak barrels, which gives the typical smoky aroma to the brandy, with clove and a slightly sweet hazelnut aroma. The brandy made with double distillation is made from wine fermented from local Armenian grape grown in the Ararat valley, in the Tavush region. For the ageing centuries-old Caucasian oak barrels are used, which are handmade in the factory's own workshop. Of course the water used can also only be local, which originates from the Katnaghbyur spring. In a word, this is a truly refined brandy, which worthily reflects the makers' mastery. We recommend its consumption on its own at room temperature.
