Akhtamar is an island in the middle of Lake Van. According to the legend it was named after Princess Tamar, who lit a fire on the island at night, to lead her lover there as he swam across the lake, to see her. The colour of the Ararat Akhtamar 10-year brandy is a copper-shaded, attractive amber colour. Its aroma is lively, elegant. Its bouquet is dominated by beeswax, walnut and oak, with the gentle support of vanilla and plum in the background. Its flavour is versatile, sweet, fine, long-lasting. Its slowly fading aftertaste, providing joy to the senses, pairs with plum notes, then the satisfaction-evoking sense of dryness with a cinnamon motif.
