Chapel Down Kit s Coty Coeur de Cuvée 2016 (0,75L 12%)
The 2016 vintage Chapel Down Kit's Coty Coeur de Cuvée is a rich yet elegant English sparkling wine, with aromas of apple, gingerbread and toasted nut. The flavor is characterized by incredible purity and refinement from the chalky soil, which perfectly carries well-integrated oaky and fruity characters.
The wine comes from the 100-hectare Kit's Coty vineyard on the Kent North Downs, and is made from the best parcels of hand-harvested fruits. The Kit's Coty Coeur de Cuvée Champagne is made using the "heart of the first press" of Chardonnay grapes to extract the finest juice. After that, French oak barrel ageing, then 7 years of bottle ageing follow to create this exceptionally rich and elegant Champagne.
Chardonnay is one of the classic grape varieties of sparkling-wine making, whether on its own in Blanc de Blancs or blended with other varieties. So it is no surprise that in the United Kingdom, where sparkling-wine production dominates, Chardonnay is the most widely planted grape variety. Chardonnay can be lean and mineral, piquant and vibrant, creamy and buttery, roasted, vanilla-noted, aromatic and floral, or some combination of the above. So saying you don't like Chardonnay is like saying you don't like white wine. You just have to find your own style.
