In 1888 in Puerto Plata, Don Andres Brugal Montaner founded Brugal & Co., which is about the value of passion, commitment and hard work. By 2010 Brugal became the No.1 rum brand of Spain. Their secret family recipe was carefully passed on from generation to generation. They use only the best oak barrels, the ex-bourbon American and the ex-sherry European barrels. Every Brugal rum is aged at least two years in these barrels. Their warehouses are positioned in a north-south direction, so that the Dominican sun is brought out from morning to evening, strengthening the ageing process.
Brugal Ron Blanco is the only rum which is filtered three times. Of course it goes through the occasional distillation process, and is aged in white American oak barrels for 2-5 years, just like Brugal Anejo. Its colour is clean and completely transparent. Its aroma is pleasant, with the aromas of vanilla, citrus fruits and coconut. A smooth and refined flavour characterises it, with rich coffee, cocoa, butter and vanilla notes.
